Can't We all Just get Along????

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting up with an old college friend.

I say old, because I've been out of college for almost four years now. Plus and minus a few months.

It was someone who I haven't seen for a while, but def got back in touch with and was thrilled with the reunion.

The topic of compassion came up.

Although, I suggested compassion for another, I to am victim to some times lacking compassion myself.

And I ask why?

There are those who can easily have my heart and undivided attention and there are those who will never have it at all.

What differentiates the two types????

I don't think that you lack compassion at times, at least not by my standards.

There are certain types of women whose attention is easy to get but hard to keep; you (and I) fall into this category. We seeningly lack compassion to those who can't hang long enough to understand us or put in the work to experience our inner personalities. The people who want to fully experience us, they try to keep our attention and they receive our compassion because we now have a vested interest.

Don't get me wrong, I have compassion for people in the general sense, but I cannot say that when I meet a person they can expect to receive (or even deserve) my immediate compassion. People commonly think this should be the case, but everything in life can't be easy. I may not be society's brand of nice, but I'm definitely deeper than a puddle and feel that my attention (and compassion) should be given out accordingly.
